Ralph Carter is an American actor and singer, best known for his role as Michael Evans, the youngest child in the Evans family, on the 1970s sitcom Good Times. Born on May 30, 1961, in New York City, he began his career at a young age on Broadway.
Early Career:
Carter made his Broadway debut in the 1968 musical The Great White Hope. He also appeared in Raisin, a musical adaptation of A Raisin in the Sun, for which he received a Tony Award nomination in 1974.
Good Times:
His role as Michael Evans on Good Times brought him widespread recognition. He portrayed the politically conscious and artistic youngest son, providing a different perspective within the family dynamic. He remained with the show throughout its six-season run.
Later Career:
Following Good Times, Carter continued to perform in theater, including appearances in regional productions. He also pursued a career in music, releasing an album in the 1970s. Later in life, he has worked outside of entertainment, though he has occasionally appeared in reunion specials and retrospective programs related to Good Times.
